Customising how Jiten looks
Furigana, fonts, word colours, the media card layout, and profiles

You can customise a lot of what Jiten looks like on the Display settings page: furigana, fonts, text sizes, word colours, stats on the media card, and more. With an account, you can save your choices in a profile, so you can carry them from one device to another, or switch them on the fly.
Where to find it
You can access a quick panel by hovering the gear button at the top-right of the header on desktop, or the Display button at the bottom of the hamburger menu on mobile. It holds some settings that you might want to change often and a link to the full settings page.
You can access the full set of options by clicking More display settings at the bottom of that panel or, while connected, going to your settings page and display.
Every change applies straight away, on both. On the Display page, Find a setting at the top narrows the page down to the settings that match what you type.
Profiles
A profile is a way to save your settings and reuse them on other devices, or switch them.
Your profile is set per device, so you can for example have a different font size on desktop and on mobile. Your profiles are saved to your account.
- New creates a profile, either as A copy of the current settings or from Jiten’s default settings, and switches this device to it.
- Rename and Delete the current profile. You can't undo a deletion.
- Export saves the profile to a file that you can then Import back or share with someone else.
If you're not logged in, settings are saved in this browser only and offer a limited set of options.
Restore defaults
Each section has its own Reset button next to its title to reset the section settings to the defaults.
There's also a global Restore defaults at the top of the page that will reset your entire profile back to Jiten's default settings.
