Bathed in the light of the moon, a giant rose blooms in full glory. It hangs darkly in the night sky, suspended in space some 380,000 km from Earth. With its true name and nature unknowable, we humans have taken to calling it “Consuelo.” The protagonist, Hakone Yousuke, is a STX Forces' combat pilot. One day, he meets a strange girl named Hanako and becomes her partner as an elite pilot. They board the Counter Flower-from-Other-Star Maneuverable Suit, codenamed "Battleship," and confront Consuelo, humanity's threat. Mentally, Hanako is a child. She is very pure and does not grasp honeyed words or subtleties. Yousuke gets close to her and so faces his "principle of action," which was vague before. Who is Hanako?.. Is she an enemy of humanity? Or is she an ally? Will humanity be able to oppose the menacing invasion? This is an adventure, shining in the stars, for adults, who once were boys and girls. This is a tale about humen who discover precious things, that do not show in one's eyes.
